Calling all out of the box thinkers - The Land

What was the last innovative idea you came across?

When you get together with friends and colleagues, what are the burning issues you talk about?

Do you ever feel helpless that you can’t do anything to resolve a problem that seems solvable?

Well – here is a solution to that particular challenge – the 2017 Agrihack Innovation Harvest on 6 and 7 April at the Wagga Wagga campus of Charles Sturt University.

Organiser, Dianna Somerville from Wagga Wagga is collaborating with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) Innovation Lab and invites everyone to participate in this mind bending two days of teamwork accompanied by technology and the opportunity to learn with innovation experts.

“Agrihack will focus on three key challenges based on dairy, wool and grain scenarios, all important sectors in the Riverina, and individuals will be placed in a team or, an entire team can enter,” Ms Somerville explained.

“Innovation can be applied to technological and cultural situations and that’s why the more people participate, the more interesting the outcomes will be.”

If there is another issue you’d like to explore, then register and enter now; apart from enjoying serious mental gymnastics, camaraderie and meeting other people from outside the box, there’s $3,500 for the winning solution.

On the topic of innovation, the CBA has invested time and personnel into establishing special Labs so people can explore ideas which may assist in their own enterprises, or tackle some of the really big global issues.

The Commonwealth Bank will officially open its Pop-Up Innovation Lab in Wagga Wagga this Thursday and welcomes everyone, not only customers of the bank.

Making and taking time to think, explore, test, refine, adapt and re-test ideas and products all starts with articulating a vision then plotting a course to achieve it. The CBA's Innovation Labs are open to everyone in Wagga Wagga from 31 March until 7 April. Photo courtesy of Innovation Lab

Running until 7 April 2017, the Lab offers local businesses the opportunity to experience a purpose-built, living environment that showcases the latest in technology and innovative practices from the Bank’s permanent labs.

Commonwealth Bank has permanent Innovation Labs in Sydney, Hong Kong and London and Wagga Wagga is one of five stops on the Pop Up Innovation Lab’s tour across the country this year.
